Baby Brennan is doing spreadsheets

Hello!

It's been awhile since I've posted to the blog, mostly because since Brennan has been born I've been lying around, eating bon bons and getting my nails done. It's been hard to muster up the energy to write.

But I've composed a quick and dirty Top Ten Things You Must Know About the Johnson's Right Now List to help catch you up:

1. Had a baby. You probably figured this out or you thought, 'those Johnson's, where'd they get that baby.'

2. Brennan (the aforementioned Baby) is now 8 weeks old and trying to master some of the finer points of Excel. He just loves spreadsheets. We're like, come on baby come do something fun. And he's like no thanks guys I've got to find the coefficient of 76x/3 - pie. OK baby. OK.

3. He's not doing spreadsheets! That was a joke. But he is learning Russian. And he's walking. Which is weird because he's only 20 inches tall. So we really have to watch out under foot.

4. Still joking. Brennan is doing none of those things, BUT he is eating like a champ, pooping, yelling, smiling, waving his arms and legs a lot, making funny baby sounds and crazy baby faces. He's mastered the use of a diaper (nice) and has turned into quite the boob man. Watch out ladies: When he latches on, he means business.

5. Tucker - our favorite son - put up a bit of protest to the new addition. Following Brennan's arrival, he staged a hunger strike that landed him in the vet's office and had a few mystery ailments -- none ever solved - that cost the Johnson's everything they had saved for Brennan's college education. Which was exactly Tucker's plan.

6. Brennan has almost doubled his body weight in two months. So have I! Man that took a lot of eating.

7. Brennan's cousin Davin is already walking. You can see him -- or a midget who looks just like him hired by Dan and Monica to create the illusion of a nine-month-old walking -- on Youtube. Search Davin Kearsley.

8. I have decided that sleep is for mortals. The Daily Show has become my primary news source. And I say things like 'Do you have poopies?' to adults and babies alike. If you do have poopies, let me know.

9. Brennan attended his first movie at age 7 weeks. It was Mama Mia. He now loves ABBA. And has inferred that instead of high school sports, he'd like to perform in the school musicals. Justin is super pleased.

10. Now in all seriousness: We are doing great. This little baby has rocked our world -- all for the better. He's a gem, he makes us laugh (and sometimes cry)and we would do it all again in a heart beat (but next time, with an epidural much much sooner).
